In my opinion, every household should have a computer because internet is the most effective and efficient ways to communicate, it is great for many things, like helping people stay in touch, spreading vital information and easing the burden of everyday tasks, like shopping or paying the bills  

But some people want to have one or two computers only, because they don't want that their kids spend most of the time on screens, it's for their own good. They want to protect their children so that they are not influenced by what is happening on the internet.
